At HazRide ("Hazdor Solutions LLP", "we", "us", or "our"), we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and website.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly to us, as well as information collected automatically when you use our services.

  • Account Information: Phone number (required, E.164 format +92XXXXXXXXXX), full name, email address, gender, profile photo, CNIC number (for drivers).
  • Location Data: Real-time GPS location during rides, pickup and drop-off points, home and work addresses (optional), route history.
  • Payment Information: Selected payment method (JazzCash, EasyPaisa, cash, wallet), transaction history, wallet balance. We do not store your mobile wallet credentials.
  • Vehicle Information (Drivers): Vehicle make, model, year, color, license plate number, registration documents, photos.
  • Communications: In-ride chat messages, support requests, feedback and ratings.
  • Device Information: Device type, operating system, app version, FCM push notification tokens, IP address.
  • Usage Data: App interactions, ride history, search queries, feature usage patterns.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve our services:

  • Provide and operate our ride-matching and carpooling services.
  • Process ride requests, match riders with drivers using our AI-powered matching algorithm.
  • Facilitate payments through JazzCash, EasyPaisa, wallet, or cash transactions.
  • Send ride confirmations, OTP verification codes, trip receipts, and safety alerts via SMS and push notifications.
  • Enable real-time ride tracking for riders, drivers, and emergency contacts.
  • Verify driver identity and documents during the onboarding process.
  • Calculate fares using distance-based pricing (PKR 15/km base rate).
  • Improve our matching algorithm and overall service quality.
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and safety issues.
  • Comply with legal obligations and respond to law enforcement requests.

3. How We Share Your Information

We share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • With Ride Partners: Your first name, rating, and approximate location are shared with your driver/rider during a ride. Phone numbers are masked.
  • With Emergency Contacts: If you add emergency contacts, they can see your ride details and real-time location during active rides.
  • With Payment Providers: JazzCash and EasyPaisa receive necessary transaction details to process your payments.
  • With Law Enforcement: We may share data in response to valid legal requests or to protect the safety of our users.
  • With Service Providers: We use third-party services for hosting, analytics, and communication. These providers are contractually bound to protect your data.

4. Data Storage & Security

We take the security of your data seriously and implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect it.

Your data is stored on secure servers with encryption at rest and in transit (TLS 1.3). Location data is stored using PostGIS with geographic indexing for performance.

We retain your account data as long as your account is active. Ride history is retained for legal and tax compliance purposes. Real-time location data has a limited retention period and is automatically purged.

OTP verification codes expire after 5 minutes and are deleted after use. Failed OTP attempts are limited to 3 per code and 5 codes per hour.

5. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Update or correct inaccurate personal information through the app or by contacting us.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data. Some data may be retained for legal compliance.
  • Location Control: You can disable location services on your device at any time, though this will limit app functionality during active rides.
  • Communication Preferences: Opt out of non-essential push notifications through the app settings.
  • Data Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format.

6. Children's Privacy

HazRide is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we discover that a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or via email. Your continued use of HazRide after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
